Bill overkill in Sacramento
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/editorials/la-ed-0511-therapy-20120511,0,6757067.story
The above editorial is against CPA opposed bill SB 1172 (Lieu), which would ban sexual orientation conversion efforts on minors and patients over 18 who have not signed an informed consent form.  While sympathetic with the intent of the bill, CPA has taken an Opposed Unless Amended position because we believe the legislature is not the place to regulate this activity and that the bill would prohibit legitimate therapy since the definition of SOCE is overly broad.
